Sketching and Poetry

A freehand sketch is a form of visual epiphany. The revelatory aspect is similar to the work of Imagist poets of the early 20th century. One of the finest and, justifiably, most famous poems from that movement was by a physician/poet :

The Red Wheelbarrow

so much depends
upon

a red wheel
barrow

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens.
